Drug and Alcohol Free Regulations

The CCTHITA is committed to achieving and maintaining a safe and productive work place. We are also committed to providing a safe, reliable and courteous service to our community. Employees must be able to perform their jobs safely and productively, free from inappropriate use or abuse of alcohol or other drug substances. Employees, who are affected in their ability to perform their jobs, jeopardize the integrity of the workplace and the achievement of the Council’s business objectives. Therefore, CCTHITA prohibits the use, sale, distribution, consumption, or possession of alcohol or illegal drugs on CCTHITA premises. All employees should be aware the violation of this policy while on the job is a matter of critical Tribal concern and will be dealt with in an appropriate manner.

Conditions of Employment:
1) All regular employees must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
2) Thereafter, all regular employees are subject to random testing throughout tenure.
3) All employees in safety sensitive positions will be re-tested upon return from significant breaks in service. For example: Furlough or seasonal leave of absence, vacations, and extended illnesses.
