Family Preservation
And Support
Program
Purpose
To coordinate services between CCTHITA Human Services, the State
of Alaska Department of
Health and Human Services, and other agencies and programs
in an effort to provide family preservation and support services
in a more effective and efficient manner.
Program
Description
The program has two components: Subpart 1 is for
child welfare services; Subpart 2 is for family preservation
and support. Training is provided for all Human Services staff

and/or reunite. Assigned staff attend regular meetings with key
state and agency personnel to identify the adequacy of services
and ways to improve them.

combined for future funding and goals. These goals include:continuing
partnerships with other Alaska tribes, the State of Alaska, and
other relevant agencies;
enhancing collaboration and building stronger partnerships between
state, tribal, public, and non-profit agencies in order to improve
family services; enhancing and increasing the intensity of resources
for at-risk families at the community level; providing opportunities
for communities to increase their knowledge of available services;
offering more accessible services and service providers; assisting
communities with assessing and addressing their unique needs;improving
the knowledge base and competency level of community-based service
providers; developing and maintaining a consumer satisfaction
evaluation system which will include both consumers of services
and service providers; and providing the training necessary to
allow multi-tasking positions.
