Native American Graves Protection & Repatriation Act (NAGPRA)

Program Purpose
The purpose is to implement the Native American Graves Protection and Repartriation Act of 1990.

Program Description
The NAGPRA program provides for the protection and repatriation of Native American Graves and Artifacts. Services include submitting claims to museums for the return of cultural objects, assisting tribes and individuals in identifying cultural objects, family trees, memorial parties and clan indentification.

Communities Served
All Southeast Alaska communities.
