Windtalkers Film Premiere

Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Student Activity Center (next to Thai restaurant Auke Bay)
Description: This film is based on actual events during WWII where the Navajo code talkers relayed top-secret messages in their language, putting themselves in grave danger.
Special Feature: Woocheen is proud to present Gloria Gorman of the Navajo Tribe. Gloria will introduce the film Windtalkers with personal insight due to her family's involvement with the code talkers of World War II.

Film Presentation: The Business of Fancy Dancing starring
Gene Tagaban of Juneau

Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Student Activity Center
Description: A poetic story of growth, death and the choices that define us, The Business of Fancydancing reunites Spokane Reservation best friends Aristotle Joseph (Gene Tagaban) and Seymour Polatkin (Evan Adams) sixteen years after their high school graduation.

Luci Tapahonso, Internationally recognized Navajo Poet presents
at the Egan Friday Night Series

Location: UAS Egan Library
Description: Tapahonso writes her poems and stories in English peppered with Dine (Navajo), but has originally conceived and/or performed many of her works in her Native tongue… Often her public readings include Navajo song.
