CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT START-UP GRANT RECEIVED

The Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska announcesreceiving a Two Year Start-up Funding Grant for a Child Support Enforcement Program from the Administration for Children and Families. This program will be coordinated through the Employment and Training Department.

"Our Tribe is excited for the opportunity to develop a successful Child Support Program. We anticipate strong collaboration with the State of Alaska, other Tribes across the nation and other programs within Employment and Training. Child Support is a necessary resource for our children to succeed, and will complement the array of other services provided within our Department," says Sharon Olsen, Director of Employment and Training.

Mr. Eddie Brakes will take the lead in establishing a CSE program with CCTHITA. Mr. Brakes previously held the Youth Opportunity Coordinator position and worked in our Tribal TANF program. His direct knowledge and related experience will benefit T&H as Mr. Brakes develops a CSE Program.
