T&H Sitka Chapter Raffle Held to Benefit Sitka ANB Hall

Citizens from Sitka and Juneau held a raffle to help benefit the Sitka ANB Hall. Over 35 items were collected for the raffle by Margaret Gross-Hope, who came up with the idea for the fundraiser last fall.

Winning tickets were drawn by Central Council President Edward K. Thomas during a reception held at the Sitka ANB Hall on April 1, 2006.

Roxanne Burkhardt was the winner of the Grand Prize of Two Roundtrip Tickets on Alaska Airlines, donated by Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.

The reception also served as a birthday party for tribal citizen Ida Peters who will turn 93 on April 19, 2006. Nearly 100 people attended and were treated to cake and ice cream.

T&H Sitka Chapter President George Bennett, Sr. officiated the event which raised $4001.00 for the hall.
