Program Purpose
To help empower the elderly to remain
in their own homes and continue an independent lifestyle.
Program
Description
Elderly resource aides
are deployed in Haines/Klukwan, Kake, and Saxman.
Accomplishments
45% of our total elderly
population were served through in-home support services, which
include errands, home health care, homemaker services, telephone,
chores, escort, personal care, interpretation, translation, and
other services. 484 elderly Natives reside in the following service
areas:
Haines/Klukwan: 42
Juneau: 332
Kake: 68
Saxman: 42
Total: 484
Goals
To provide program services
to 484 Alaska Native elders (60 years of age and older).

grant period is July 1 through June 30.
