Vocational Training & Resource Center (VTRC)
Based upon the economic development and employment needs that exist within the region, the Vocational Training & Resource Center (VTRC) will provide opportunities for training and career advancement through high quality, postsecondary academic and vocational education. The VTRC is a State of Alaska authorized postsecondary institution.
There are a myriad of vocational courses and workshops offered: business management seminars, oil/heat and hydronics furnace repair (National Oilheat Research Alliance silver and gold certification), PTDI-certified Commercial Driver's License course and ATSSA Flagger Certification.
The VTRC's computer training classroom is equipped with fifteen (15) computer workstations. The instructor employs Ziff-Davis Education's Active Learn and LearnPro techniques for all your computer training needs. In addition to the VTRC's regularly scheduled classes, custom classrooms are also offered.
Although the Vocational Training & Resource Center focuses on training for all Alaska Natives/American Indian adults, it holds an open admissions policy for individuals of any race, creed, color, nationality or ethnic origin.
Additionally, the VTRC offers room rental space for all your workshops, conferences, seminars, meetings and events on a daily and/or multi-day basis. The kitchen space is leased to a private entrepreneur.
