Rescue Relief Household Program

Tlingit & Haida's Rescue Relief Household Program is now closed. The program was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and provided $1,000 per tribal citizen within an eligible U.S. household that had been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program was a one-time program to offset some of the expenses households were facing. Please note, this is not a per-capita distribution.

For anyone who submitted enrollment documents for the November 2023 Enrollment Meeting and has not already applied for the Rescue Relief Household Program, to please contact the Rescue Relief Team at 907-463-7711 to see if you are eligible to apply.

We respectfully share that the Rescue Relief Household program is not an emergency-based financial assistance program. If you have submitted a Rescue Relief Household application, please rest assured, our Rescue Relief team is working diligently to process all inquiries and applications in the order received.

Tlingit & Haida understands the needs of our tribal citizens and offers several financial assistance programs (Burial Assistance, Elderly Emergency Assistance, General Assistance, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) to help meet these needs.

Rescue Relief Household Program 1099s

The Rescue Relief Household program is non-taxable as it qualifies as a general welfare exclusion; recipients will not receive a 1099.
